When his best friend Frank wins a billion dollar lottery, gets stoned, and decides to run for president, English teacher Dill Doyle, hoping to win back the heart of his estranged daughter, reluctantly agrees to be his running mate.  

That is, until Frank's wife Martha, a take-no-prisoners powerhouse, decides she wants to be on the ticket. Unfortunately for Martha, the AI models show her anti-weed rhetoric is a turn off to Frank's base. In fact, the AIs predict Dill's unique set of peccadillos who could turn Frank into a legitimate contender. 

While this could motivate a lot of dangerous people to come after him, Dill's convinced it's Martha who conspires to get him fired and arrested. So when he wakes up in a hospital bed after getting shot in the ass trying to save Frank's life, Dill not only wonders if Martha put out the hit, he wonders whose life, actually, did his ass save.

A SHOT IN THE ASS is an altruistic-stoner fairy tale—a story about one man's inescapable regret, existential dread, and ultimate realization that love is a decision.
